Truro BID

Digital Projection Funding Secured

As part of our third term, we set out to seek alternative funding to enhance all that Truro has to offer.  We have managed to secure two digital projectors, flights cases and lenses.  We launched the projectors in November 2018 and used them in March, November and December 2019 to enhance our dark nights and bring to life a plethora of digital imagination.

We secured the funding for this project through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) funded LEADER project.

Digital Projection Mapping for Truro

This project has enhanced Truro's tourism experience with an innovative, themed digital projection facility complementing the existing Christmas Lights scheme and create a vibrant evening experience throughout the year. We have purchased two digital laser projectors.  This has enable us to provide video mapping, where light is mapped onto any surface, turning common objects of any 3D shape into interactive displays.  The lenses have enhanced images and provide interesting visual effects. By having the two digital projectors we can include more surface area (width) of the building and will make the overall effect, far more impressive.

The themed projections will illuminate our darker streets, enhance our beautiful buildings and add to our evening economy throughout the calendar year.
