Truro BID

Large Illuminated Digital Projections

As part of our third term, we were successful in securing funding to purchase two digital projectors to enhance Truro's offer.

We launched the projectors in November 2018 and used them in March, November and December 2019, December 2020 and December 2021 to enhance our dark nights and bring to life a plethora of digital imagination. This was possible as we secured the funding through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) funded LEADER project.

The projections have enhanced Truro's tourism experience with an innovative, themed digital content complementing the existing Christmas Lights scheme by projecting large illuminated visuals on the Tui building in Boscawen Street and Arts Café in River Street for Wednesday Christmas late night shopping evenings.

We used the projectors to create a vibrant evening experience in March 2019 to celebrate St Piran's Day, where we arrange for a St.Pirans day film to be projected onto the Old Bakery Studio.

We plan to use the themed projections more in future to illuminate our darker streets, enhance our beautiful buildings and add to our evening economy during the autumn / winter evenings months when it gets dark earlier.
