Children's Day 2021
Following the event being cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19, Truro BID hosted the forth Children's Day on Saturday 26 June.
Alongside the usual Saturday Truro Farmer’s Market, Lemon Quay also had a selection of markets stalls offering family friendly activities and items for kids. There was free have-a-go circus skills sessions with Swamp Circus, along with Cornwall Dance School both performing and offering dance sessions.
Street performers were popping-up around Truro on the day.There lots of activities within the shops including free craft corners and giveaways, and some meal deals available for the kids.
Children's Day 2019
Truro BID hosted its third Children’s Fun Day on Saturday 13 April 2019 with over 35 shops, cafés and eateries offering fun, activities ranging from Easter egg hunts to face painting as well as offers. Hundreds of families took advantage of the free offers and activities doted around the city centre.
Lemon Quay was a hive of activity with stalls, kids rides, a diablo performer and a stilt walker, have-a-go sessions from Cornwall Dance School, InspirAsian Dance and Kids Yoga Cornwall and mountain bike athlete Andrei Burton. There were also some street performers popping-up around Truro on the day and the Royal Cornwall Museum was free entry for families.
The city’s new bright bunting was fluttering across Truro and adding colour to the day. The bunting, which is installed by Truro BID, included Boscawen Street in 2019 thanks to the sponsorship from town crier Lionel Knight and his partner Carol Bane.
