Truro Park and Ride to run shuttle service on Sunday 6 July from Tregurra to the city for the Truro Classic Car Show

Truro Park and Ride will be putting on a special Sunday service to support the city’s Classic Car Show in July. On Sunday 6 July the Truro Park and Ride will be operating a shuttle bus service from the Tregurra site to the city centre where the Truro Classic Car Show is taking place. It will be the first time that the Park and Ride service has operated on a Sunday. The journey will take approximately six minutes and will drop off passengers at Quay Street.

The service will run from Tregurra (TR1 1RH) every 15 minutes between 9.30am and 11.45am and from 1.45pm until 4.30pm, and every 20 minutes between 12.05pm and 1.25pm to coincide with the event which takes place from 10.30am until 3.30pm.

The Truro Classic Car show, which is free to attend, will feature an iconic classic and vintage car collection across the City Centre including Triumphs, Mercedes, Morris Minors, Jaguars and more, plus live music. Visitors will be able to browse automobilia and autojumbles stalls, and there will be a small selection of new cars on display at car show from local dealers. Macmillan Cancer Support will be collecting on the day for those who wish to make a voluntary donation.

The Truro Classic Car Show is being brought to the city by Truro BID and Sponsored by Coodes Solicitors. Truro Park and Ride is operating a shuttle service for the Truro Classic Car Show due to a partnership between Truro BID and Cornwall Council who are both funding this initiative. Please note that the Park and Ride at Langarth will not be open on this date.

Alun Jones, Truro BID Manager said: “We are delighted that following our request to Cornwall Council, the Park and Ride will be operating a shuttle service from Tregurra to coincide with the Truro Classic Car Show. We hope that having the Park and Ride open will encourage more visitors and residents that need to drive to attend to the show and enjoy both the classic cars on display, along with city’s shops and eateries that are open.”

To use the Park and Ride, passengers should park their vehicle at the Tregurra site and catch the Park and Ride bus outside the ticket office. Day tickets can be purchased via the First Bus App or from the driver on the day. Multi-day tickets and PLUSBUS tickets are also valid on the day.

Ticket prices are: Day tickets £2.50, Family Day Ticket (2 Adults, up to 4 children aged 5-15) £5.00 and Group Saver Day Ticket (Up to 5 adults) £6.40. Under 5s travel free.

Buses back to Tregurra Park and Ride will leave from the City Centre (at Quay Street) every 15 to 20 minutes throughout the day with the last service departing at 4.40pm. The Tregurra site will close shortly after the last bus has arrived back at the site.
