Release: Vehicle owners invited to display their automobiles at the Truro
Classic Car Show this August
Truro BID are inviting owners of classic and vintage cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles to display their cherished automobiles at the Truro Classic Car Show, which returns to Truro this year on Sunday 2nd August.
The Truro Classic Car Show is the only classic car show in Cornwall in a city centre location. The show is set to offer vehicle lovers a rare opportunity to see a wide variety of much-loved classic and vintage cars, mostly from the 1930s to the 2000s, displayed on a hard surface setting.
To enable a wide section of exhibitors to take part, along with Lemon Quay, vehicles will be displayed across the city. As with previous years, there will also be an opportunity to see a selection of some new cars.
As well as experiencing the city brimming with cherished cars, visitors will be able to browse automobilia and autojumbles stalls and enjoy live music.
Alun Jones, Truro BID Manager said: “We are pleased to be bringing the Truro Classic Car Show back to the city for the fourth year. We are looking forward to transforming Truro with a static display of much-loved classic and vintage cars and motorcycles to attract residents and visitors into the city for the day. Classic or vintage vehicle owners are encouraged to apply now to exhibit at the show.”
The Truro Classic Car Show will take place from 10.30am until 3.30pm on Sunday 2nd August across Truro City Centre. The event is both free to attend and to exhibit vehicles.
Those who wish to apply to exhibit their classic or vintage vehicle, should head to Truro BID’s website at: www.trurobid.co.uk and complete the online registration form or email: emily.warrington@trurobid.co.uk. Vehicles entered should be pre-year 2000, however newer vehicles (post-2000) will be considered if they are highly unusual with a wow factor.
As with last year, the Truro Park and Ride will be operating a regular shuttle bus service from the Tregurra site (by Waitrose) to the city centre. The journey will take approximately six minutes and passengers will be able to purchase day tickets via the Transport for Cornwall App, legacy First Bus App or from the driver on the day.
The Truro Classic Car Show is being brought to the city by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors.
Elise Alma from Coodes Solicitors, said: “This promises to be a great day out for classic car enthusiasts from across Cornwall and Coodes is delighted to be sponsoring this event once again. It will also be raising money for a very important cause, and we hope it attracts a lot of people to the city centre.”
Macmillan Cancer Support will be collecting on the day for those who wish to make a voluntary donation. For event details see Visit Truro’s website: www.visittruro.org.uk.
