Christmas events in Truro 2026
The programme of festive events in Truro, Cornwall start on 21 November including Christmas Markets, and full details are listed on visittruro.org.uk.
The festive events and activities organised and funded by Truro BID in 2026 are:
- The City Centre Christmas Lights, which will come on during the afternoon of Saturday 21 November to coincide with the start of the Christmas Markets. We fund, install and maintain the Christmas Lights, including storage and electricity.
- The Father Christmas Parade on Wednesday 2 December to celebrate the first late night shopping. Featuring Father Christmas in his sleigh, dancers, musicians and circus performer, and kindly sponsored by Coodes Solicitors.
- Wednesday Late Night Shopping from 2 December, where we're organising traffic-free shopping areas and encouraging Truro's resident businesses to trade until 9pm.
- The Boscawen Street Christmas Markets* (co-hosted with Truro Farmers Market and Cornwall Shop Small) on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 28 November where we're managing road closures to create traffic-free shopping.
- Illuminated Reindeer Trail - we'll be distributing around 90 reindeer Christmas lights to Truro city centre businesses to enhance their window displays.
*Note: The Boscawen Street Markets hosted by Truro Farmers Market and Cornwall Shop Small will also run daytime on Saturday 21 November and Wednesday 25 November.

There was a programme of festive events in Truro, Cornwall, from 21 November including Christmas Markets, and full details were listed on visittruro.org.uk.
The festive events and activities organised and funded by
Truro BID in 2025 were:
- The
City Centre Christmas Lights.
- The
Father Christmas Parade.
- Organising
traffic-free shopping areas for Wednesday Late Night Shopping and saturdays.
- Co-hosting
the Boscawen Street Christmas Markets with Truro Farmers Market
and Cornwall Shop Small on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- Illuminated
Reindeer Trail – distributed c.90 reindeer Christmas lights to businesses
to enhance their window displays.
Due to financial pressures decided to prioritise projects
including installing and maintaining the city centre Christmas Lights rather
than holding a dedicated Truro Christmas Lights Switch-on event. For details

Christmas 2025 Marketing
To support Visit Truro’s ‘Find Christmas in Truro’ campaign, we funded and implemented some additional marketing activity. This directed people to visitruro.org.uk, used the same artwork and included:
- a targeted flyer door drop (25k) to increase coverage beyond TR1
- posters delivered to 70+ city centre locations (put up by BID where possible)
- 2k flyers distributed to around 40 city centre businesses
- 19 x Foamex signs put up at prominent locations in the city centre
- Two pages of editorial in Truro Together
- A5 advert in Cornwall 365 (20-25k copies, over 800 stockists in Cornwall)
- Targeting local schools
- Social media, primarily to inform those working in Truro City Centre.
