Truro Children's Day 2026
Families can ejoy a packed programme of activities and entertainment in Truro city centre for Children’s Day, which we're bringing to the city Saturday 20th June. Highlights include:
- exciting mountain bike stunt shows
- have-a-go sessions in cycling and circus skills, and
- dance performances on Lemon Quay
- family-friendly activities on Pydar Street, including giant board games.
We've been inviting businesses to take part with in-store activities and offers. There are more than 35 exclusive family-friendly activities and offers in shops and eateries taking place across the city.
Several of Truro’s businesses and organisations will host family-friendly stalls on Lemon Quay, including Malletts Home Hardware, Harry’s Toy Chest, The Entertainer, and the Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery. Children’s Day is being brought to the city by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors.

Truro Children's Day 2025
We brought Children's Day back to the city on Saturday 21 June. The event, funded by Truro BID, included:
- Mountain bike shows, a scooter / bike obstacle course, have-a-go at circus skills and dance performances on Lemon Quay, swing boat rides, crazy golf, craft activities and stalls.
- Street Market hosted by Cornwall Shop Small and Truro Farmers featuring local traders across Boscawen St, Pydar St and High Cross.
- In-store activities and offers in Truro’s shops and eateries from 30 businesses
Children's Day was sponsored by Coodes Solicitors. Thank you to all the businesses and organisations that took part in the event. The full list of 33 in-store offers and activities, along with event details, were on Visit Truro's webpage. Children's Day in Truro City Centre will be back in 2026!
Marketing Children's Day
We promoted Children's Day 2025 with a combination of:
- posters in the public realm and at Truro businesses
- advertising in Blackbird Pie, What's On / Cornwall 365
- event listings on websites
- editorial in Truro Together
- coverage (online/printed) following our media releases in Falmouth Packet, Cornwall Live, Cornish Stuff and the Truro Voice
- communication to schools
- social media activity on @trurobid (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
We also liaised with Visit Truro so they promoted Children's Day on visittruro.org.uk and on their Facebook page (@visittruro).
