Events and Marketing

We aim to raise the profile of Truro as a year-round destination, increasing footfall and spend by delivering marketing campaigns and vibrant events with key partners.
 
We fund, maintain and install the Christmas lighting scheme each year. In the last few years we've worked to improve Truro's Christmas offer and have delivered events including: 
  • Festive Friday (Truro's Christmas Lights Switch-on)
  • Christmas Street Markets in Boscawen St
  • Street entertainment
  • Traffic-free streets (by funding security required road closures)
  • Father Christmas Grotto's and 
  • Walkabout Theatre shows
Pre-Covid we supported the City of Lights team to deliver this annual event which attracted c.30,000 visitors. 
 
Throughout the year we deliver events including outdoor markets and Children's Day. Pre-Covid we delivered Truro Trend, the annual fashion, hair and beauty event where the highlight was the Catwalk at Truro Cathedral. 
 
We work with Visit Truro to promote the city as a destination to residents and visitors. This includes delivering Christmas marketing, contributing financially to printed marketing material (e.g., Truro Guides) and Visit Truro's website. 
 
To promote our events we deliver campaigns using range of media such as press releases, posters, print advertising and digital media. Visit Truro also promote our events via their website and social media platforms.
