Truro BID

Pydar Regeneration Project

The regeneration of the Pydar area plans to create jobs, build new low-carbon homes, deliver green spaces and support economic growth. The project is being led by Cornwall Council and Treveth Development LLP.

The proposed scheme will regenerate the run-down area of the city and help create a vibrant new neighbourhood and destination for Truro.

70% of the proposed land use of the scheme is residential, delivering 320 new homes, 35% of which will be affordable units and significantly contribute to Truro’s local affordable housing need.

The project will deliver innovative work, employment and learning spaces, improve walking and cycling links together with an exciting riverside park and range of engaging leisure, hospitality and cultural facilities and events.

Truro BID is on the steering group for this initiative and participated in regular meetings when the proposed scheme was being developed. We support the scheme as it will bring additional footfall to Truro. We've have also been encouraging businesses to take part in the engagement sessions for the project.

The project had just completed its demolition phase. For more details see the dedicated website for the project: www.pydar.co.uk and follow the updates on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram (@PydarTruro) for all the latest on information, events, and activity.
