Pydar Regeneration Project
The regeneration of the Pydar area plans to create jobs, build new low-carbon homes, deliver green spaces and support economic growth. The project is being led by Cornwall Council and Treveth Development LLP.
In June 2021, a revised planning application was submitted to Cornwall Council which included decreasing the overall height of the original proposal and retaining of Moresk/Oakway Car Park and a planning condition that these spaces will be retained for a specified minimum period.
Truro BID is on the steering group for this initiative and participated in regular meetings when the proposed scheme was being developed.
If the project is approved, construction on the first phase will start in 2022. At this stage Cornwall Council and Treveth Development anticipate that this first phase will take approximately 18 months. The remaining development will be delivered over the next 5-8 years.
To view and comment the plan, which you can do until mid-September, please visit the Cornwall Council's online planning portal and search for the application using the application number PA21/04889.
